Great & Holy Friday services - April 10, 2026

On Friday, April 10th, Fr. Aleksey held services for Great & Holy Friday.

In a tomb they laid You, O Christ the Life.

The angelic hosts were overcome with wonder,

and glorified Your humility.

A man in the center of the frame is folding (or unfolding! I'm not sure) a white cloth while leaning over the tomb of Christ, which is surrounded by white, orange, and blue flowers, with a few dark red tulips in the mix. There's another man looking on from the bottom-left corner of the frame. Both men are wearing black shirts, and the manin the corner is wearing light beige pants. The pants of the man in the center are hidden behind the other man and are not visible.

Fr. Aleksey, wearing a black vestment, stands facing the open Royal Doors as he uplifts a white cloth towards the heavens. The tomb and flowers appear behind him, in the lower-left corner.

After going around the church three times, the procession arrives back at the entrance of the church. The photo, from a perspective inside the church, is of the beginning of the procession, with the Epitaphios, about to enter the church.
