2022 Nativity Activities

This year, we're planning a number of activities to share the joy of the holiday as a parish and with our community. If you are interested in participating in any of the following activities, please let Sandy Tosca know your availability by November 27th.

We are going to kick off our Nativity season with decorating the church after Liturgy on November 27th. In addition, we will have a short Sunday School for the youth, and interested adults, discussing the good works of St. Nicholas and how as a parish we can emulate his example.

Listed below are the activities to consider:

  1. Christmas caroling in Mt. Carmel shopping district, outside of elderly parishioners homes in the area, and outside of Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, Mt. Carmel Apartments, and Serenity Garden. Please indicate what times and days are best, if you are interested in participating. The possible days are:
    1. Saturday – December 3rd (1 PM to 3 PM)
    2. Friday – December 9th (4 PM to 6 PM)
    3. Saturday - December 10th (1 PM to 3 PM or 6 PM to 8 PM)
    4. Friday - December 16th (4 PM to 6 PM)
    5. Sunday – December 18th (2 PM to 5 PM)
  2. Christmas cooking and bread baking to give out for Nativity and to take to nursing homes. The possible days are:
    1. Friday – December 16th (10 AM to 5 PM)
    2. Saturday – December 17th ( 9 AM to 4 PM)
    3. Sunday – December 18th (12 PM to 4 PM)
  3. Christmas card making and writing. We would like our youth to make Christmas cards for the Nursing Home residents in Mt. Carmel and Kulpmont. We can do some cards each Sunday, if that works for parents. Also, we need help mailing out cards to friends of the parish and to our parishioners who are away.
